Today I didn’t really do much as I try to consider it my free day, meaning I don’t really do much of anything. Then came the freebies that just couldn’t wait! I stopped at Walgreen’s and picked up 2 packs of Olay body/beauty bars for $4 since I had several $2 off coupons so I got 2 packs for FREE plus they gave me $4 in Register Rewards to use next time! I also had DH do this offer since he was picking up his meds there, another $4 in Register Rewards for that FREE purchase! Then I had to stop at Albertson’s since I saw they had $2/2 coupons for Fresh Express salads which Safeway had on sale for $1, I got 8 bags of salad for FREE there! Saw another Walgreen’s across the street and got another $4 in Register Rewards for the Olay deal. Drove down to Safeway to get the FREE salads I mentioned then hit the Walgreen’s across the street for $4 in Register Rewards one last time!

So I got the following for FREE not including the $1.32 I paid in taxes:

8 bags of Fresh Express salad
8 2pks of Olay body/beauty soap bars

I just back a couple of hours ago from the Safeway Rally promo where you get 25 participating items and you get $20 back. I know I could’ve picked different items for a cheaper price but the deal had some much needed items I needed to stock up on so I figured why not I only spent $12 so far for groceries this check and I’m still well within the amount we put aside. So I spent $30 and got back $20, not too bad since I only got items we use.

Here is what I got:

5 boxes Rice A Roni (Spanish flavor since I’m craving enchiladas)
5 boxes Pasta Roni (various flavors)
6 bags Betty Crocker Cookie Mix (3 Sugar & 3 Oatmeal Chocolate Chip)
6 boxes Betty Crocker Brownie Mix (various flavors)
1 gallon Clorox Bleach
1 Clorox Wipes
1 Reynolds Foils

Then I got the following not included in the deal:

3 bottles Propel Flavored Water FREE
2 bags of Eat Right Ceasar Salad B1G1

Like I said I paid $30 after coupons but for some reason my $20 coupon didn’t print so they verified I purchased all the correct sale items and they handed me a $20 bill so I spent $10 for all that!

Now I can go back since I found out S&W beans are part of the deal and get some of those with some more cookie mixes for a lesser price and get another $20 coupon!

Well today was quite the day of FREEBIES! I had a $25 rx coupon for Safeway so I transferred a cheap $3 rx of the hubby’s, nice little profit! From there I picked up 5 Hillshire Farms Deli Wraps for the get 5 get $10 coupon offer and 6 cans of Hormel Chili. Total was $13, paid with gift card so the out of pocket was $0!!! All Free and I got a $10 coupon to use at Safeway!

Trip #2: I got 5 things of Hillshire Farms Mesquite Turkey Ultra Thin Deli Meat and 6 cans of Hormel Chili. Total was $3 after coupons, paid with gift card so the out of pocket was $0!!! All Free and I got another $10 coupon to use at Safeway!

Trip #3: I got 5 things of Hillshire Farms Roast Beef Ultra Thin Deli Meat. Total was $0 after coupons!!! All Free and I got another $10 coupon to use at Safeway!

Trip #4: I got 2 Hillshire Farm Deli Wraps, 2 Sara Lee Whole Wheat Honey bread, 1 Hillshire Farms Entree Salad and a because I was out a pack of Pita Bread. Total was $6.66 after coupons, paid with gift card so the out of pocket was $0!!! All Free and I got another $10 coupon to use at Safeway!

I was a bit tired after that and it was rush hour traffic so I headed home and wouldn’t you know it I forgot to get milk!

I’ve been in a salad and pita phase and yesterday I went shopping for just the right stuff. I bought 12 bottles of Kraft salad dressing (various flavors), 6 bags of Kraft shredded cheese, and 6 bags of Dole salad kits. You’re probably thinking I’ve spent an ungodly amount unless of course you know me already. Well I paid $6 for all that, can you get this for that price? Want a breakdown of the cost? I paid .17/ea for salad dressing, .60/ea for cheese and salads were free! (promotions added to savings as well)

I just got back from Fry’s and their buy 9 get $9 back sale, there are over 700 items in this sale but I was there for soda since we’re almost out. Anyways there was also another deal if you spent $25 on certain diet Pepsi products you got $5 off as well. So I got 9 Diet Mtn Dew’s on sale for $3 making them $27 – $9 = $18 – $5 = $13 or $1.44/ea. Then since I needed cheese and you can do 2 of the 9/$9 deals I got 6 chunks of Kraft cheese and 3 boxes of Kraft Velveeta Shells & Cheese, I used 4 $.40/2 (doubled to $.80/2) coupons for the chunks of cheese and paid $17.81 total for all 18 items! I know the math makes no sense as I see it’s off about $2 bucks or so but that is what I paid!

Okay, I guess I wasn’t at my best yesterday while shopping, I have a cold and forgot some good coupons. No problem, we just went back to Safeway and get the followinging in 2 seperate transactions:

6 boxes of Pillsbury Toaster Struedels
10 boxes of Quaker Instant Oatmeal
4 boxes of Quaker Oatmeal Squares Cereal

Grand Total: $4.75

The Safeway in AZ is running a buy 10 selected breakfast products get $10 off instantly. So of course since it’s limited to 1 deal per transaction I did 5 of them!

I got the following:

12 boxes of Cinnamon Life
14 boxes of Cap’n Crunch Berries
2 boxes of Quaker Oatmeal Squares
6 boxes of Quaker Oatmeal to go Bars
13 boxes of Chewy Granola Bars
4 bags of Simply Potatoes

Grand total: $16

I saved $176.66 and yes, they are all items my household will use! So basically I am fairly stocked up on regular items we use and buy; 2 of the cereals and 2 chewy granola bars would’ve cost us the price I paid.

How you ask? Coupons from the Sunday paper and I subscribe to a coupon program that does all the homework for me. All I do is log in, see what’s free or nearly free or find if what I need is on sale and they tell me what coupon to use. Yeah, I pay for this service but lets face it, there’s no way I would’ve had time to figure out the best price w/ coupon and what store.
